If you don’t already have one, you should go to the Google Voice website and create one. If you don’t already have the app, you can download it by clicking the button below.

Method 2: How to Record Calls on Android with Third-Party Apps

There are lots of third-party apps that are made for recording calls on Android. However, as usual, some are better than others. We’ve tested a few apps and, for the purpose of this guide, have decided to show you how to use two of them: Call Recorder – ACR and Automatic Call Recorder.

How to use Call Recorder – ACR

Call Recorder – ACR is a brilliant app available on the Google Play store that lets you record phone calls on your Android device. Used by thousands of Android users, this is one of the most reliable apps for recording calls. The great thing about the app is that it features a high-quality mp3 call recorder and even though the files are of high quality, the recording file sizes are really small. Due to storage issues, the app deletes old recordings automatically, however, you can mark certain old recordings as Important so they don’t get deleted automatically. Also, you can set a password so that others cannot access your recordings.

1. Configure Settings

Open the app and click on the Settings icon. Now, tap on General. Here you can configure the settings on how you want to record calls and use those recordings. You can set a password, enable notification while the call is recording and group the recordings.

2. Configure Recording Settings

Open the Settings and click on Recording. Here, you can choose the recording directory, choose from 7 different recording file formats, enable auto-delete and choose whether you want to record the calls manually or automatically. Also, you can set a timer to start recording by tapping on Recording delay and entering the seconds that you want to delay before the recording starts. Also, you can record Bluetooth headset calls by checking the Record on Bluetooth option.

3. Enable Cloud Integration – Optional

The app also features Cloud integration for saving your phone recordings on Cloud.  You can enable Cloud storage by going to the Settings menu and tapping on Cloud Services. You’ll need to log in with your account details for whichever Cloud service you want to use. You can now make/receive calls and they will be recorded automatically. After installation, the app automatically enables call recording and runs in the background, recording all your phone calls. In order to play the recordings, open the Call Recorder app and tap on the recording that you want to listen to under the ALL tab. Tap on Play to start playing the recording.  You can also send the recording, mark it as important and add a note to it.

How to Use Automatic Call Recorder

Automatic Call Recorder is another fantastic app available on the Google Play store that lets you record phone calls. Receiving over 10 million downloads, the app is definitely one of the most popular calls recording apps for Android. The app is extremely easy to use and it only takes a couple of seconds to configure the app after installing it. Automatic Call Recorder also features Google Drive and Dropbox integration for Cloud storage.

1. Go to Settings

Open the app and press the Menu key on your device. Now, select Settings from the list of options.

2. Configure Settings

While under Settings, make sure that the Record Calls option is checked. You can also configure things like the directory for saving your recordings, the recording file type and your Dropbox account for Cloud integration. Now, you can make/receive a call and the app will automatically record every call. You will see a red icon in your status bar while the call is being recorded and you will get a notification once the call ends and the recording is saved. The Inbox tab is where all your recordings will be stored. These saved calls will be stored in the Saved tab.

3. Play Your Recodings

Now, go to the Inbox or Saved tab and click on the recording that you want to play and hit the Play button. You can also search for recordings in the recordings list by pressing your Menu key and tapping the Search button.
