It is based on the idea that mosquitos hate the sound emitted by an Android app and will search for a different victim instead. To most humans, the noise should be undetectable. The reason that the mosquitos want to avoid the high frequencies is because they can resemble the sounds of their predators.
Method 1: Impulse Signal Generator
This app offers a range of frequencies between 1 and 22,000 hertz. The reason this app was selected was due to its 4/5 star rating and for being in the 50,000-100,000 download range (although it’s probably closer to 50,000). There are no known health risks associated with using this app. This is a mosquito repellent app that’s free. Step 1: Download and Install Impulse Signal Generator from the Google Play Store. Step 2: Open and run Impulse Signal Generator.
You will be taken to the “Generation” section initially.
Step 3: Review and understand how to use the “Generation” section.
You can manually enter the frequency you desire two ways:Move the slider to the right until you see the desired frequency.Tap on the underlined section. You should see a number pad pop up you can use to input the frequency.Press Start.
Step 4: Review and understand the Preset section.
Most likely, you might need a little guidance in determining which frequency to use. This section provides the values used on mosquitos or dogs and cats.We’re sure you are a nice person. Don’t be mean to dogs and cats for no reason.Use the User Presets section to specify what frequencies you want fast access to.
Step 5: Check out the Options menu.
This menu is located in the upper right-hand corner and allows sound emission to continue even when your phone is in Sleep Mode.
Be wary of ads.

It will tell you “We first have to optimize the algorithms for your environment. Please be patient;” which seems kind of cheesy, but harmless.
Step 3: Tap the Continue button.
It will notify you that it has been activated.
Step 4: Swat away ads.
Yes, these may be pests of a different sort, but nothing in life is totally free. Except for Joy of Android. It’s free.
Step 5: Use the slider to change frequency, or tick the box to alternate frequencies.
If you want a higher or lower frequency, this affords you that option.If you want a variety of frequencies, you have the power.
Method 3: Anti Mosquito: Sonic Repellent
This app is rated with an average of 3.7/5 stars, but with 50,000-100,000 installs. It claims to work for some other insects as well. It’s another free Mosquito repellent app download. Step 1: Download and Install Anti Mosquito: Sonic Repellent from the Google Play Store. Step 2: Open Anti Mosquito: Sonic Repellent.
Right away, I encountered an ad, but brushed it aside.
Step 3: Choose from three frequencies.

Step 4: Use the slider to increase or decrease volume.
The only one I personally could stand was the 20 kHz. I could hear all of the others and they drove me crazy.
Troubleshooting Advice: Close this app or any of the others and restart if it becomes unresponsive. I had to do this several times with Method 3. Hopefully, this piece of advice is totally unnecessary for you.
Conclusion
If you like having options, or you like control, Impulse Signal Generator could be the app for you. It is also the highest rated. Anti Mosquito Shield really will put on a show for you, but as to whether or not it can really analyze your environment—well, odds are that might be a stretch. You can still manipulate the frequency as you like, or use many alternate frequencies to ensure you find the right one at least part of the time. Anti Mosquito: Sonic Repellent was doable for me as long as I stayed at the 20 kHz range. Otherwise the app would drive me away along with the mosquitos, but everyone’s hearing and sound tolerance can be different. All of these have some ads but all are free.
