How to Clear Firefox Browsing History

Let’s start with Firefox since it’s my browser of choice, and one of the easiest to use.

Step 1: Open Your Browser

From your home screen or app drawer, open Firefox.

Step 2: Open Your Browser Menu

On any page of your browser, even while actively browsing and searching the web, tap the three vertical squares in the upper right corner.

Step 3: Go to Your Settings

Go down the list until you find Settings, and then tap it.

Step 4: Go to Privacy

From Settings, open Privacy with a single tap.

Step 5: Clear Now

Don’t worry, tapping Clear now doesn’t delete everything. Instead, it shows you a menu where you pick what your Android browser clears. On this menu, everything that has a checkmark will be clear. Everything without a check mark stays where it is. Tap any of the checkmarks to remove them, and any boxes to add a checkmark. When you’re done, tap the Clear data button to finish.

How to Clear Chrome Browsing History

Chrome is easier to clear than Firefox, and has more options to clear your data within specific chunks of time.

Step 1: Open Chrome

Open Chrome from your home screen or app drawer; my Chrome is locked away in the drawer since I don’t use it very often.

Step 2: Open a New Chrome Menu

Just like in Firefox, tap the three vertical squares in the right-hand corner.

Step 3: Open History

Unlike Firefox, Chrome has its History section available. Tap it and launch a new menu; this will take you away from your current page.

Step 4: Clear Browsing Data

Tap the button at the bottom of the page that says “CLEAR BROWSING DATA…,” since I rarely use Chrome my history is pretty bare as it is.

Step 5: Customize What Clears

From here, select the point you want to clear from, and then what you want to clear. The times range from the short term side of the past hour to the log term of since the dawn of the universe and then some. Anything with a checkmark is clear, and anything with an empty box is left alone. Tap boxes or checkmarks to switch between the two. When you’re satisfied, tap the CLEAR DATA button to clear your Android browser history.

Conclusion

Clearing your Android browser history barely takes a minute, and is an easy way to troubleshoot your browser. If you’re using a browser other than Firefox or Chrome, the steps are more or less the same across all major browsers.
