I think I’ve never used a flashlight since getting my Android smartphone, as my phone’s LED light is sufficient. But what if your phone’s LED light isn’t bright enough and you can’t use it to find your keys in the dark? If you own a smartphone from the Sony Xperia Z series, then you’re in luck, since you can learn how to boost the LED light on your Xperia smartphone. Prerequisite
As you probably know, installing system mods usually requires root access and you’ll need to root your Sony smartphone before installing the mod. Rooting is an unsafe process which is why you should attempt it only at your own responsibility. Also, this will void your manufacturer’s warranty. You’ll also need a custom recovery, such as CWM or TWRP, installed on your phone. While this mod is excellent for improving the LED light on your phone, it can damage your LED if you leave the boosted light on for too long. Also, leaving it on for a long time might heat up your phone.
How To Install The LED Mod
Make sure that you follow the steps below carefully in order to successfully flash this mod on your Xperia smartphone.
Step 1 – Downloading the LED Mod
Download your desired version of the mod. The medium version is recommended as the extreme version might start to heat up your LED. You can download the mod using the links below.

Step 2 – Connect Your Xperia Phone
Connect your Xperia smartphone to your PC using a micro USB cable and transfer the downloaded mod file to your phone without extracting it.
Step 3 – Turn Off The Android Phone
Switch off your Xperia smartphone and boot into your custom recovery. You can boot into recovery by using a key combination. This might be different depending on your phone and custom recovery. It will either be Volume Down plus Power or Volume Up plus Power.
Step 4 – Install Zip
While in recovery, navigate to the Install zip option using the Volume keys and select it using the Power button.
Step 5 – Choosing Your Zip File
Choose the zip file that you transferred to your phone earlier and select Yes if you get any confirmation option. Your phone will now flash the mod.
Step 6 – Reboot Your Xperia Smartphone System
Once the mod is flashed, select the Reboot system now option in order to reboot your phone. That’s it! You have successfully installed the LED boost mod on your Xperia smartphone.
Step 7 – If You Want to Switch Back to the Default Xperia Light
If you want to switch back to your phone’s original LED light, download this zip file and follow steps 2 to 6 in order to install the original LED on your phone.
