Method 1: How to Block Texts on Samsung Galaxy with Phone Settings
To block text messages through your phone’s settings you have 3 options. Let’s see what they are:
1. Block the Number
In order to stop getting text messages from a certain number, all you have to do is block the number. However, this way you won’t get any kind of notification from this number. Here’s how: Open the contact you want to want to block, open the menu and tap on Add to reject list. And that’s it! No more notifications from blacklisted numbers!
2. Add to Spam
The other way you can block text messages is to open the message that is bothering you, open the menu and select Add to Spam numbers. The effect is the same as with the blocking, the difference is that the number will not know that you’ve blacklisted them, you just won’t receive any notifications.
3. Auto-Reject List
You can easily directly blacklist numbers so that they will have no option of contacting you while they’re on the list. All you have to do is go to Settings, then Call Settings, tap Call Rejection, and then add or remove the numbers you want to block to the list.
Method 2: How to Block Text Messages with Third-Party Apps

All you have to do is open the app, click the “+” button and add the number you don’t want to receive text messages from.
Method 3: How to Block Text Messages through Service Providers

1. Verizon
You can do this through your personal computer, by going to their website, going to the Blocks tab and adding the numbers you want no text messages from. Or you can use the Verizon App, where you need to open the menu, go to devices, then manage. Tap on Call & Message Blocking and add the numbers you wish to block.
2. AT&T
Open the AT&T app and log in. Then simply manage the blocked numbers on the list from the page that will pop up.
3. Sprint
Just like with Verizon, there are 2 options for blocking numbers. Through your desktop, where you have to sign in to your account, go to Preferences and click on Limitations and Permission. Click on Block Voice and simply add the numbers that are bothering you. Or you could use the Sprint App, where you have to go to Settings, go to Call+SMS Filter. Tap on Block Calls, find the number you want no notifications from and block it.
