Here are some of the best CPU benchmark apps for Android that will not only help you gain an idea where your smartphone stands among the plethora of other flagship devices but also help you share a screenshot on social media. We’ve already made a list about the best graphic benchmark apps for Android, so if you’re interested in that, feel free to take a look at those as well. Thankfully, I was able to garner a respectable list of CPU benchmark apps for Android so, we’re not completely stranded just yet. Note: the 5 best CPU benchmark apps for Android were tested on a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone. I have the Exynos processor inside my smartphone and not the Qualcomm one.

1. 3DMark – The Gamer’s Benchmark

Conclusion:

I have to admit, only 3 of the apps are actual benchmark apps and only 2 of them are actual CPU benchmarking apps. Thankfully, you’ll only need the leading benchmarking apps to gauge the performance of your Android device. While technically this benchmark can be called a GPU benchmark, but in reality it also uses the CPU to render graphics on your smartphone or tablet screen. At the end of the day the combined power of not only GPU, CPU but also memory is needed to push out cutting edge graphics on your handheld Android device. You’ll have to download 100 MB additional benchmark files but it is worth it to see how well your smartphone does. Mine didn’t fare that well on the benchmark because my device’s performance was throttled by heat, 3DMark informed me about that though, which is a nice touch. Free Version

2. CPU-Z

As a matter of fact, I recommend this app to anyone who is remotely interested in the thermals of their smartphone or tablet. It is fascinating to see how modern devices under clock themselves automatically when subjected to extensive heat. Or how the power saving mode basically limits the performance of your CPU in order to conserve battery life. Everything about your processor and the internals of the smartphone itself can be learned through this nifty little app. That’s not all, you can easily check out all the sensors included in your smartphone too. Free Version I’m sure there will be more CPU benchmarking apps eventually rising to the top but as of now, there is not much variety available on the Google Play Store. As always, if you have any questions, suggestions or funny comments, feel free to drop them in the comments section below. And remember don’t run consecutive benchmarks on your device.
