Whether you are racing online in one of the best racing game for Android or throwing grenades in the multiplayer shooter games for Android, you would want to record your skill shots and epic drifts. Thankfully, a lot of companies are now focusing on screen capture technologies natively but for those who don’t have the ability, there are certain great game recording apps for Android that can help. Huawei released their screen capturing technology with the launch of Huawei Mate 8 smartphone. I had some time with the phone and was pretty impressed at how well managed the screen recording feature was. Then Samsung came along with their flagship and launched their own game tools that far surpassed anything available on the market. Although I’m a fan of what Samsung has done with their game tools on the latest Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, there are certain limitations to those tools and game recording technology. For example, if you want to record anything other than the gameplay, you’ll have trouble doing so with the Samsung native app. Thankfully, all of these great game recording apps for Android allow you to record almost anything on your screen with ease. Let’s start our list with the best game recording apps for Android so that you can start showing off your skills to the world.

Note: The 3 best game recording apps for Android were tested on a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone. The apps worked fine and no problems were faced during gameplay or recording. However, a point to be noted here is that the apps may struggle to record the gameplay on midrange to budget range smartphones. The games are taking a lot of resources as it is and when you apply a screen recorder on top of them, a lot of processing power is needed. So, make sure you have a high-end device before you make any long-term plans of recording gameplay.

1. AZ Screen Recorder

This is one of those lists where the number one app is actually the number one. AZ Screen Recorder is hands down the best screen recording app that has performed wonderfully for me over the course of several weeks. I captured footage on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge using this app and it hasn’t let me down. One great thing about this game recording app for Android is that it doesn’t put a lot of stress on the system hardware. From recording tutorials to capturing gameplay footage on my phone, the app has worked astonishingly well. If you need one app to take care of all your recording needs, I highly recommend this one right here. In fact, I highly recommend that you install it first and then even think about checking out the competition. The interface is user friendly, the options are a plenty and the app is extremely stable on supported hardware. Sure, you will see some lag on lower end devices, but that is understandable. 2. ADV Screen Recorder

This is another good game recording app for Android, available freely on the Google Play Store. The app was designed to be fully featured and without any kind of restrictions. You don’t even need a rooted Android for this app to work flawlessly. One thing I liked about this app is that it comes with two different engines. One is the default and the other one is an advanced engine. The default one allows you to record simple things like apps and general Android interface. However, if you need to record gameplay from a game, you’ll need to switch to the advanced engine. The advanced engine allows you to capture footage of videogames easily if you have a suitable device. One good feature of this game recording app for Android is that it allows you to draw on the screen with your favorite color. So if you are making a tutorial, this feature will come in a lot handy. 3. Mobizen Screen Recorder

Mobizen Screen Recorder is a capable game recording app for Android, but it lags behind the competition a little bit. I had no trouble at all recording with this app on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone, but it refused to run on other devices that were a little outdated. So, there is a chance that you won’t be able to record any footage using this app. Thankfully, you have two other options available so you can use them instead. The app is well designed and comes with a floating button controller that allows you quick access to basic functionality. For example, if you’re playing a game you simply have to press the floating button to gain access to video recording as well as screenshot features. The best thing is, you can move around the floating button on the screen and it won’t be recorded in the footage itself. Free Version

Conclusion

The first app on the list is actually one of my favorite ones here and I wholeheartedly recommend it to you. I’ve been using it for around three weeks now and it has performed remarkably well. I was able to capture an hour long gaming session using the app and it never crashed on me. Granted, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is a flagship smartphone but it didn’t even heat up while playing a graphically intense game as well as recording footage. This is clear proof that the AZ Screen Recorder doesn’t put a lot of stress on system resources. So what do you think about these great game recording apps for Android?
